Colour Sorting Systems

extract VA from shredder material and copper from brass and purify electronic scrap, pourable raw materials and initial materials of all kinds.
Steinert has been researching and developing separation techniques for many years. Practical experience has shown us the limitations of magnetic processes for particular separation activities, such as when bulk goods comprising several different materials must be separated out into their constituent elements, as is the case, for instance, in recycling. In such cases, certain constituent elements must be reclaimed and cleaned of any contamination to produce a perfect end product. Steinert has therefore developed the FSS colour sorting system. This can separate out from the material flow particular constituents that are visually different from the rest of the material. The relevant criteria are colour, brightness, granular size and shape. Our long experience in recycling guarantees that our colour sorting system also benefits from Steinerts usual high level of quality - in other words, robustness, long life and efficiency.
In the Steinert colour sorting system, a colour camera recognises distinct differences in colour, shape or size in the material to be separated. The material is compared on the built-in feeder conveyor and thinned out by a chute. After passing through the area covered by the in-line camera, the particles arrive at the ejection nozzles, which blow out the particles that are to be separated out.
