STEINERT offers electromagnet and permanent magnet drums. All of the drums feature an adjustable magnet system. This makes it possible to precisely select the point where the magnetic field is applied. This feature represents a major enhancement of the respective products. Both of the magnet systems are available as a disc pole or transverse pole.In the electromagnet drum with the MTE Q transverse pole, there are several poles. The first pole generates an especially far-reaching, strong field in the direction of the material feed, ensuring reliable separation of small pieces of scrap metal. Other poles hold the material on the drum housing. By reversing the poles, the scrap is cleaned and led to the discharge. This classic shredder drum contains an iron core with specially formed poles and high-performance coils made of ANOFOL, the anodised aluminium strip made by STEINERT.

The STEINERT electromagnet drum with disk pole MTE S removes iron particles from bulk material. The magnetic field is generated by a disk pole system that consists of semicircular cast steel bodies with ANOFOL field coils between them.

The compact, extremely powerful coils generate such high attractive forces that the strength and material of the drum housing conform to these high requirements in terms of wear and deformation.

The permanent magnet drum MTP operates using permanent magnets, including some neodymium iron boron magnets which generate a strong magnetic field, especially in their immediate vicinity. The MTP S is equipped with a disk-shaped magnet system that utilizes the same polarity in the direction of rotation in order to generate strong holding forces.

Like the MTE Q, the MTP Q with transverse pole generates its magnetic field transverse to the direction of rotation, which promotes the self-cleaning of the iron.

The worldwide success story of STEINERT magnet drums is a result not only of their robust design but also of their evenly strong magnetic field over the entire working width.
