The particular strength of Steinert battery-powered magnets is their mobility. They operate completely independently of the mains supply, drawing their power from their integral charged batteries, which can be recharged from any standard mains socket via the cable supplied. Steinert battery-powered magnets can transport steel plates, blocks, bars, profiles and round material in steel storage depots and workshops. As an option, they can also be switched on and off via infra-red or radio remote control. Hundreds have been in use for many years.
