The Magnetic Head Pulley

Technology

The strong magnetic field attracts the ferrous elements contained in the material stream and holds them to the conveyor belt while the non-ferrous bulk falls off. When the belt separates from the pulley on the return, the ferrous is pulled from the field into a separate pile. Higher belt speed levels improve the separation. Model BRP Q Axial Pole Systems allow excellent post-cleaning of the ferrous and a constant field over the entire width. Improved performance and efficiency at the pulley results in low tramp iron in your materials.

For special applications, extremely strong neodymium bore iron may be used to capture mildly magnetic stainless steel or minerals. Working widths from 300 mm to 2000 mm (12”–79”) and diameters from 240 mm to 640 mm (9-1/2”–25”) are available. Shaft and bearing specifications as per your requirements.

Our R&D department is glad to conduct tests with your material.
