General Description
- Next to coal, the most frequently recovered mineral
- Major iron ores: hematite and magnetite.
Requirements for Separation
- An iron content greater than 63% is required
- Prior to recovering hematite, separation of iron ores that impair the process
STEINERT Solutions for Iron Ore:
Wet drum separator for recovering magnetite using a permanent magnet system with ferretic magnets. Design and construction based on the specific requirements, either with a low intensity magnetic separator (LIMS) using weak magnetic fields, or for recovering itabirite with a medium intensity magnetic separator (MIMS).
Metal detectors: For differentiating between iron ore, tramp iron, and other metals (in conjunction with a control unit, the conveyor belt stops when tramp iron is detected)
