Unique: The largest spectrum of Separation technology worldwide

STEINERT and RTT agree a share takeover

After intensive negotiations, RTT Systemtechnik GmbH in Zittau and STEINERT Elektromagnetbau GmbH in Cologne are pleased to announce the development and production of sensor systems under the brand of UNISORT® by their joint company RTT Steinert GmbH.

Consolidating the sensor technology of RTT Systemtechnik GmbH and the magnet and sensor technology of STEINERT Elektromagnetbau GmbH, the new company will offer a complete product range of separation technology; consisting of near infrared technology for the plastics and paper separation, sensor controlled separation and the magnet technology for the areas of metal and mineral separation. RTT GmbH brings their years of experience in the development and marketing of near infrared technology; whereas STEINERT brings to the group years of experience in the area of sensor sorting and magnetic separation.

On September 14, 2009, the CEO’s of both companies, Bert Handschick and Franz Heiringhoff, signed the purchase contract. Under the guidelines of the purchase contract, majority shareholder, STEINERT GmbH will be leading the worldwide aspects of the new company. “We have created the unique opportunity worldwide to offer a comprehensive product range for the mining industry, as well as metal processing and domestic waste from one source”, Franz Heiringhoff, CEO from STEINERT GmbH, pointed out. “The global sales presence as well as the possibilities of STEINERT's worldwide service were a relevant argument to look for a closer cooperation with STEINERT”, emphasized Bert Handschick, CEO of RTT.

The next step will be that RTT Systemtechnik GmbH organization will be aligned with the whole organization of the STEINERT group so that a short-term presence worldwide is possible.

The first presentation as joint-venture-partners took place already at RWM in Birmingham one day after the signatures -please see photo.
